SEO Case Study

How a D2C Skincare Brand Tripled Organic Traffic and Hit #1 on Google for 15 Keywords

3x Organic Traffic

60+ Keywords Ranked

1,200 Visits per Month

The challenge

The brand made good goat-milk skincare, but Google barely knew it existed. In October 2024 almost all of its organic traffic came from people who already knew the brand name and searched for it. Shoppers searching for products like "goat milk face wash" or "goat milk body lotion" never found it, so the website brought in almost no new customers and few sales.

Our Audit found three reasons

  • Keyword stuffing : Pages repeated the same phrases unnaturally. That reads as spam to Google and as clumsy to shoppers.

  • Cannibalisation : Several pages targeted the same keywords, so they competed with each other and none ranked well.

  • No clear structure : Category and product pages had no clear role, so Google could not tell which page answered which search.

What we did

01

Rebuilt the website structure

We revamped the old site into a clean hierarchy: home page, then 3 core categories (face wash, body wash and body lotion), then about 15 product pages. Each page got one job and one set of keywords. We removed the stuffed copy and merged or retargeted pages that were competing with each other.

02

Researched keywords shoppers actually use

We mapped the searches real buyers make, from broad terms ("goat milk products for skin") to product terms ("goat milk shower gel") and questions ("is goat milk good for skin"). We included Hinglish searches like "papaya face wash ke fayde", which most competitors ignore.

03

Optimised every category and product page

  • Category pages target the broad seed and primary keywords for their category, for example the face wash category for face wash terms.

  • Product pages each target their own product keyword, for example the goat milk face wash page for "goat milk face wash".

  • Titles, meta descriptions, headings, product copy, image alt text and internal links were rewritten around each page's keyword, without stuffing.

04

Published 55+ helpful blog posts

We wrote posts on benefits, uses and how-to topics for every product (for example "goat milk face wash benefits" and "goat milk shower gel benefits"). Each post links to the matching product page. Readers get real answers, and the product pages gain authority on their topic.

SEO Traffic Growth Dashboard (1).png

Estimated monthly traffic from an SEO tool, Oct 2024 to Oct 2026. Blue: organic. Purple: branded. Green: paid.

Organic traffic tripled, and all of the growth came from new customers

Organic traffic rose from about 380 to about 1,200 visits a month between October 2024 and October 2026, and it grew every quarter. Branded traffic (people searching the brand name) stayed flat at about 390. So the extra 800 or so visits a month are shoppers who found the brand through product searches, not people who already knew it. Paid traffic stayed at zero.

From deep in the results to the top of Google

Of 27 tracked non-branded keywords, 25 now rank in the top 10, up from 5 before. 15 rank #1. Together they cover about 8,000 searches a month, and the keywords in the top 3 alone cover about 5,100.

Skincare SEO Ranking Keywords Growth

Google India positions from the SEO tool's position tracking. Search volumes are monthly estimates.

The biggest jumps came from blog-supported keywords. "papaya face wash ke fayde" went from 77 to 3, "vegan skin products" from 59 to 2, and "goat milk face wash benefits" from 55 to 4.
